Im happy to see more people recognising that Showgirls had no business being labelled “one of the worst” movies. It’s a campy mess but you can still make out what the filmmakers were going for. Frankly, the backlash has given the film a longer shelf life compared to some of the “good” movies of the era.

I rewatched this recently to see if it really is that bad and… yes it mostly is. The story and character development are paper thin with no substance and lots of moments that just don’t make much sense. Lots of hotter” scenes are deeply unsexy and just look physically uncomfortable.
Having said all that everyone looks really good and you can totally see that the wooden and awkward performances were down to the direction.
